I feel real stupid asking this but how would one go about turning off the actual images that appear on the timeline and turning them into plain old opaque colors--I know you can do this in Premiere and I have a vague re-collection of having done it with Vegas (I could very well be wrong!)

Options / Preferences / General / Draw waveforms and frames in events.

Unfortunately this will turn off audio waveform displays too.

Ah--so maybe in version 7---I like the idea of one idenfitying image at the beginning of the clip and the rest opaque-------Thanks.

Each to his own, i suppose. Since i edit on the timeline i prefer (and pretty much need) to have the whole event showing inbetween frames.
