Event Heal Question

I have an audio event on one track. There's a gap of silence that I want to remove between two sections of dialog. If I split the event and trim them to remove the silence, I then try to "event heal" them, but when it makes it a single event, it re-inserts the silence that I removed. Is there another way to join two events into one after they're split and trimmed? Thanks!

Event Heal is to restore the event to its original. It won't append two pieces together. If you took out the silence and heal, it returns the silence so it is in its original form.

Yes, that's what I've discovered. I'm asking if there's a way to simply merge two events into one, as they exist on the timeline.

Only if you render it to another track. Otherwise, they are two events.

Ok, thank you, just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something.

There is also grouping. If you select some events and type 'g' they become "grouped", or glued together for purposes of selecting or moving. So down the road, if you select one, they all become selected, and if you drag one, they all drag together. They retain their appearance as individual events, though.
