Event level Video FX - no Animate button?

I downloaded a trial of VP13 to see if there's any reason to upgrade from VP10. Playing around, I added Video FX to my events but don't see the usual animate button to add keyframes to the FX. I can see the animate button when I add a track level (as opposed to event level) FX. I am able to animate Video FX at the event level in VP10. Am I missing something?

Klick the clock symbol at the right side of each slider to open the animation bar.

When there is more than one clock within an effect, you can choose which variable within the effect you want to vary over time, giving a much more subtle control over what happens.

If it's a straightforward effect, just click the "Animate" button at the bottom.

Thank you for the replies. Now I see it (was wondering what those little symbols were.)

Generally on the subject of upgrading from VP10>VP13, anyone have any input on the benefits? I have three AVCHD cameras (two Canon DSLR's and a Panasonic AG-AC90). I generally shoot corporate educational/promotional video or live events for clients with basic editing (cross fades) and titles. Some kind of lower 3rds animation would be nice too. Other than some interface changes, I'm not seeing a big difference between 10 & 13. VP10 handles AVCHD files fine. I do notice render times are faster on VP13 (I'm guessing better GPU handling?) but the rendered files at the same settings don't appear as smooth. I need to play around more since it appears the render settings e.g, SONY AVC .mp4's don't directly translate. Selecting the same bit rate in the render settings in VP10 & VP13, the VP13 file is a lower bit rate. Not sure why there is discrepancy.

From 10 to 13 there were more than 100 new features …

Thanks Marco I understand. That's why I specified my primary use of Vegas since I'm guessing most of those changes won't impact my work?
