If you upgrade to the Pro version, you could run a script which could do a "Match Output Aspect" on all photos at once.

Also, there's new option in Vegas Pro 9 that will automatically apply a "Match Output Aspect" on all photos added to the timeline.

For the current Movie Studio versions, you need to do it by hand - one at a time.

One at a time....... No, no, no!!!

While you do have to do the first one manually, ctrl+c to copy it, then click on the second and shift-click on the last to select them, right-click and choose Paste Event Attributes. Done.

Ahhh, but that only works on photos with the same shape as the first one. Photos of other shapes and aspects won't be properly cropped this way. They'll still have to be done individually.

As Kelly said, if you're using all photos from a still camera where they're all identical in size for example, this would work. However, I typically use scans of stills that are all different sizes and shapes. Paste Event Attributes will NOT work in that situation.

In fact, i just did a little test in 8.0c and 9.0, and the results were shocking. Not only did it not work, but it seemed to lock the pan/crop settings into some very weird values that i couldn't restore from. I had to remove the events and re-add them in order to be able to crop them again.

So maybe I was a little too emphatic....

The way I do it is to uncheck the Maintain aspect ratio box in Event Properties rather than in pan/crop. Never had a problem with paste event attributes. But I guess I've always had photos of the same pixel size when doing so.
