There's no way to adjust event selection using the keyboard in the main track view, except Select All (Ctrl+A) and Deselect All (Ctrl+Shift+A).

However, you can bring up the Edit Details window, set it to show Events, sort by any column you choose, and then use the "Select" column to change event selection. Perhaps not what you're looking for, but powerful for certain cases.

Thanks SD,
I was just reading in the manual about that.......I'm going to have to play more with this Edit Details Window.
There's been a couple of good tips posted on the use of this window.

Since it's not part of the "default" set of windows in the dock, most people don't know it exists. For certain things, it's pretty powerful. For example, you can change a single property across multiple clips in one edit.

That's pretty cool!
Hey, it would be pretty nice if it did dock. I have room for another tab...
Hmmmmm...

Hi SonicDennis-

Any chance of a "how to" for using edit details? P. 18 in the included manual says it is there, I have seen it before I have tried to cut/copy/paste without luck. Basically, I don't get it.

If I wanted to apply a filter to all or selected clips, how would I do this using edit details?

Thanks.

You cannot do anything with filters in edit details beyond changing the exposed switches. You CAN drag an fx preset from the video fx docking window and drop it onto multi-selected events.

It docks, just drag it down there.

Oops! My bad. You're right, I kept dropping it too close to the mixer.

Thanks!

just another tip about the Edit Details window. you can usually copy a block of data into Excel to perform operations on it, and then copy the modified data back into the edit details window.

this feature really opens up Vegas to some cool plugin-esque type stuff without the need for the SDK or writing a real plugin.
