Event strip icons

Somehow the little icons appearing on the video and audio track event strips have disappeared?? How do I turn these back on. they are much faster to usae than the menus.

Hmmmm. Which icons do you mean? My first guess was the video frames and audio waveforms. You can turn these on and off with View / Waveforms and Frames (Shift+Ctrl+W). But then you mention menus and i'm not sure how those are related. Do you mean the icons in the track headers on the left of the screen? Perhaps you've made the headers too small. You can adjust the vertical size with the + and - keys at the right edge of the timeline. You can adjust the horizontal size by dragging the thick grey divider line between the headers and the timeline. If the headers are too small then some of the icons are hidden.

Maybe what you're referring to are the buttons across the top of the screen above the timeline? Try View / Toolbar.

FOUND IT!! View, Event Buttons. They're the little buttons that show up at the end of the right side of every event. Was drivin' me crazy! Haven't been using VMS that long, but I really like it, so far. Not sure how I turned this off, but now I know. Thanks for the responses.
