Edward, jetdv did a post that I used to set up a render preset out of Vegas and into DVDA that sustains volume levels marvelously. I tried a quick look at his site but can't remember the exact post. Give him a whisle and you'll be very pleasently surprised at the DVD audio outcome.

I'm not at my editing computer, but I had this same problem and, yes, jetdv and DSE both provided me the solution.

When you render your AC3 file in Vegas, choose the template for DVDA. (I'm wondering if this template is new in V7?)

There have been DVDA templates ever since there has been a DVDA,; it's just that everyone insists on choosing the default template.

Here's the exact link Darryl was looking for. You need to render to AC3 in Vegas with those changes.

Copied from the replies: Do these changes to the DVDA AC3 template.

Change the dialog normalization to -31

On the PreProcessing tab, change both the Line mode profile and RF mode profile to NONE
