curiosity (hasn't killed this cat yet - that's why i'm asking!)

at present i'm running 2 lcd screens from my nvidia 9600 card. one is ui, the other as preview / ex monitor.

there's also a breakout cable that will give me component.

can i connect this to my ex sony hr crt?

will i be monitoring correctly?

i only ask since the 2nd video card i'm thinking of getting has hdmi out, and i'm torn between using a crt or lcd tv.

i come from a broadcast background so i know the importance of crt monitoring, but to be frank, i don't know any who still has one other than as a kids / bedroom / kitchen set.

Well I did run into another Vegas user whose running Sony HD CRT monitors via HD SDI from Decklink Extreme cards.I glad I don't have the kind of work to justify that capital investment.

I still run CRTs, quickest way to make certain field order is OK. LCD monitors that can correctly display interlaced video are too expensive for me at the moment.
