Nor can I. I can get a rec_start marker and that's about it.
What we're hoping to see is the non realtime metadata stored in the XML file. I can see it in the XML file no problemo. I have a horrible feeling that Vegas is taking a shortcut. Probably what it's doing is reading the XML data and putting it in the SFK file of the same name as the mp4 file.
Even if this works it's not the correct approach because if you edit the XML file Vegas will not see those changes unless you import again.
I just tried adding a shot mark whilst recording on EX1.
Sony Clip Browser picks up the marker and marks it with an orange dot.
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, Sony Vegas hasn't added this yet - but it's already been described as being "on their radar" so, just not this edition ... it will be so useful being able to pinpoint and mark important moments, then immediately see them in Vegas.
Which kind of begs the question.
They say they've added something. How do we get to see whatever it is they've added. What is an "essence marker" ??
I thought it was frame rate and frame size i.e. the essence of the video.
The Sony document on working with XDCAM with Vegas 9 leaves me even more confused because it's not totally clear if they're referring to XDCAM or XDCAM EX when it mentions essence marks in the explorer showing up as thumbnails.
