EX1 Users - any way to retrieve deleted SxS video?

PeterWright wrote on 11/30/2015, 1:36 AM
I've made a faux-pas and deleted clips (in the camera) from a card before confirming they were copied correctly onto hard drive.

I have not used the card for anything since. I know there are ways of reclaiming deleted files on hard drives - does anyone know if it is possible with an SxS card?

Fingers crossed ....

Update - Have found and downloaded some recovery software called Jihosoft Photo Recovery, and it has found, and "recovered" 11 MP4 files from the SxS card.

The trouble is, they are not recognised by either Vegas or Content browser. They are the correct size files, so there is obviously substantial information there, and the file names all tally, but so far I cannot use them.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to try and "unlock" these retrieved files?

Thanks

Peter

can anything at all read them, eg. vlc?

there was a thread over on dv -

[link=http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-xdcam-ex-pro-handhelds/530297-im-screwed.html}

not sure if there's anything in there of any help.

i have an assortment of programs i've acquired over the years for repair and such like, and what i've done (with still cards from clients and friends) is run them through them till one worked. try recuva - it did a good job an sdhc video card..

Not yet, Leslie, not on any player

The software company are helping - I'm uploading an .img file of the SxS card, which their software created, and I hope they can do something with this once it's uploaded.

since you've got them as files you can sat least experiment - have you tried the various mp4 repair apps, and remuxing (as opposed to retrieval)?

good luck...

No Leslie, but I'd love to try - can you recommend one?

you never know....

good luck again

btw i read this might also work, though it's a paid repair:
