Exactly what is a better credit roll generator?

In keeping with Bob's thread about the long sought after titler improvement in Vegas I thought I would start a thread about another long standing pet peeve regarding the lame credit roll generator in Vegas that hasn't changed at all since it's inception in Vegas 2.

I'll start:

1. It needs a more user friendly speed control for ANY LENGTH
2. The lettering needs a drop shadow option.
3. Greater font and color choices instead of only THREE. With independent lines determined by the user.

I'll stop there to allow expansion.

Good point John. I once had two FCP people who needed a job done in a hurry get totally blown away by how quickly I did everything they needed so quickly and easily, including mixing their audio.
Until....
They said we need to redo the credits as I deserved one. I insisted that wasn't necessary but they made me do it.... Trying to match what had been done previously was very tedious at 2 AM.

But all that aside I'm curious as to how the existing credit rolls hold up in 24p. I've only done them in 50i and it's harder to judge the motion blur at 50i. A lot of credits run pretty fast these days and without the right amount of MB they could look very jittery at 24p. Guess I should test this myself.

unlike the text generator which I like the way it is (it's a text generator, that's all I want) I'd like the following changes in the credit roll:

* user styles (letting the user say how many columns as well)
* drop shadow
* add a "pan/crop" time line to the TL at the bottom of the window (so you can easily see key frames & whatnot).
* info on the current credit roll: how many pixels per time X it's scrolling (so you can match non-CR items to it)
* add an item that lets you switch between different presets.

That's about it. anything more complex then text I can do with gimp/vegas itself.
