Excalibur 4.2 crashes In Vegas6

I'm a registered user of Excalibur 4. Been running Excalibur4.0.
In the recent thread about "Photo Montage", I discovered there is an Excalibur 4.2 (that thread was the first time I'd heard of it).
I downloaded Excalibur 4.2 from the jetdv site, and let it install itself in Vegas 5 and Vegas 6.
When I try to run it in Vegas6, I get:

Microsoft.Vsa.VsaException: AssemblyExpected (0x80133004): C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 6.0\Script Menu\Excalibur4\VegasUtils.dll

Just for fun, I also tried it in Vegas5. It seems to work just fine in Vegas5.
What's the secret for getting it to work in Vegas6??

I did the same thing you did, but 4.2 works fine for me. It said if you had 4.0 to completely uninstall it first and then download 4.2. Did you do that?

I tried 4.2 and got the crash. (I missed the instructions to uninstall 4.0 first -- where did you see those?)
Then I went back and uninstalled 4.0 (using WindowsXP ControlPanel's "Add and Remove Software"), and installed 4.2 again.

Still crashes in Vegas6, works in Vegas5.

Fixed the problem, in a roundabout way...

I deleted the Excalibur4 folder from the Vegas6 Scripts Menu folder, and copied the Excalibur4 folder from the Vegas5 Scripts Menu folder into the Vegas6 Scripts Menu folder.
Now Excalibur comes up properly in Vegas6...

Oops... spoke (wrote) too soon.

In Vegas6, Excalibur4 *seems to* come up, but when I select one of its tools, it crashes.

Excalibur4 works properly in Vegas5, though.

Very strange...

I did the complete "uninstall program," deleted 4.1 folders, rebooted, fresh install of 4.2 - and it works fine in V6a. Even the js vs dll toolbar icon issue is resolved. Darryl

I did uninstall, delete folders, reboot, installed 4.2.

I THINK it's working in Vegas6 now... gotta run some experiments with specific Excalibur tools...

I had to change the names of a couple of files between 4.0 and 4.1. Because of this, 4.0 needed to be uninstalled before installing 4.1 or 4.2. As you have seen, simply uninstalling, deleting the Excalibur 4 folder, and reinstalling will solve your problem.

hmpf...that doesn't seem to be working for me. I uninstalled 4.1 and alll the folders I could find in V6. Re-installed Excalibur 4.2...went thru the process twice. It still crashes. I can oprn the main window, but, it's quite foreshortened. If I try to select a script, it crashes.
