Excalibur 4:After 6 Update, delete key dead?

It seems that after updating Vegas 6 to the latest update (6.0b), when running Excalibur 4 to select the events to be deleted, the delete key does not delete them.

Could I be doing something wrong here?

On the timeline, I have the cursor, say 20 minutes into the video.

I select events under the cursor and all before the cursor via Excalibur 4. I see that the events are clearly selected. When I hit, delete, nothing happens.

I also tried (which is what I usually use) to select events within my selection (via i/o) area. They are selected. When I hit Delete, nothing happens.

I can do an I/O select, double click the selection area so as to select all events in that area, and I can delete them without using Excalibur 4 at all.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I've been using Excalibur for some time, so I usually do not have any problems with it.

Note: Just now, I did Select All Events under, before, and after the cursor via Excalibur (this should wipe everything out), the events were positively selected, when I hit delete nothing happens.

It's like the timeline doesn't have the focus for the delete key to work. It appears to, however, that is simply how it "seems/feels."

Thanks.

I can do it with Rt Clk Mouse "Delete" - Grazie

That's exactly what the problem is. The timeline does not have the focus. If you press ALT-0 and then DEL you'll se that it works. ATL-0 returns focus to the timeline.

I do not believe I have had this problem before.

Is this something will be fixed?

Thanks.

It appears that if the screen appears, the timeline loses focus. If the individual script is run with no screen, this does not happen. It also appears that it happens in both Vegas 5 and Vegas 6 but ONLY if the GUI appears.

For now just add the individual select button to the toolbar set to the way you use it 99% of the time. For the other 1%, you can either press Alt-0 or click above the timeline ruler to return focus back to the timeline. Further investigation will be required to determine exactly what is happening here.

For what it's worth:

Ultimate S event selection does *not* lose the track focus.

Just an FYI...

Thanks.

And Excalibur doesn't lose the focus if you use the individual tool (which uses your "default" setting). It's being investigated but I don't have a quick answer other than the workaround mentioned above for you today.
