I've just upgraded from Vegas Pro 8 to 13. Can't figure out how to make Excalibur appear as a tab -- i.e., like Explorer, Transitions, Generated Media, etc. -- below windows.
I can get the icon to appear on the tool bar, but no tab. Senior moment; I should know how to do this.
If you go into Options & scroll down to customize toolbar click on it, look for Excalibur in the Available toolbar buttons, highlight it then click Add and then it should show in your current toolbar buttons. Once you click on the Excalibur's toolbar button the program should open, then place it on the docking windows and this should create a tab. Also make sure you are using the latest version.
I think you discovered a change in the docking procedure in VP13. By default moving a window it will not dock. Hold the <Ctrl> key while moving and it will dock. There is an option in preferences to change the <Ctrl> key behaviour with docking.
Jack, I've seen an issue in Vegas Pro 13 where opening a custom command will open it in a tiny window between the main docking area and the Trimmer window. I had to find that small sliver and then move it to the main docking area.
The docking procedure has also changed so it's not automatic. You now have to hold down CTRL to dock instead of holding CTRL to not dock.
