Excalibur question

Apologies to Gary/Ed if I was supposed to post/email Excalibur questions elsewhere....

I'm using the Multicam Wizard with Excalibur 2.0 in Vegas 5.
Two video tracks, one named "Dan", the other named "TIM".

I placed my markers, Labeled "D" or "T", at desired edit points.

Question 1: When I run the Multicam Wizard, I notice that the clips from the "Dan"video track are COPIED into the Master Track. But the video clips from the "TIM" video track are MOVED into the Master Track (leaving gaps in the original "TIM" track.). Shouldn't those be copied as well? Or am I doing something wrong?

2. I also notice that if I'm using Sub-Clips (new feature with Vegas 5) on either original video track, Excalibur just ignores them, and doesn't copy or move them into the Master Track. Are you not allowed to use Sub-Clips with Excalibur?

Thanks for the help.

Dan

I personally don't know the answer to your question. Sorry.

But I know where you can get Ed's attention and thoughtful discussion rather quickly. Ed is a moderator for DVinfo.net. It's an excellent source of information regarding DV issues of all sorts!

Go to: www.dvinfo.net

Besides this bulletin board, I use dvinfo.net as an important source of informational support for all kinds of video recording/editing issues.

Hope this helps! :)

You can e-mail me directly. My e-mail address is on page 4 of the manual.

Excalibur can either "copy" or "move" (I like to "move"). However, it will NOT do one on one track and the other on the other track. Is it possibly you accidentally placed the video twice on that track? You can always shoot me the VEG file and I'll take a look.

I can honestly say I have not tested Multi-cam against sub-clips. I will have to try that. However, they're just events on the timeline so they should behave the same as a normal clip. Once again, just send me the VEG file telling me where to look after multi-cam was run and the settings you used for multi-cam.
