Excalibur - To be or not to be

Back when I had Vegas 5, I found a need to perform a select to end from the cursor on all tracks. I was referred to a script by Ed Troxel of JetDV, loaded it and it worked wonders.

I just spent some time looking for that same script and now see that it's part of Ed's Excalibur. His sub module, if that's what it's called looks pretty powerful, but I'm not sure if I would use all $129.95 worth.

Will the old script work in Vegas Pro 8 ?

Or would most of you that use Excaliburs features recommend I bite the bullet and purchase the whole enchilada?

Thanks

You can download a fully functional trial version and try it for yourself. I upgraded from a very old version of Excalibur and am very pleased with th new version.

No reason why it shouldn't.
Give it a try though and find out for yourself.
As Ralph says, try Excalibur and see what you think.
I bought it about a year ago and use it quite a bit.

I wonder if Ed would ever consider making a "light" version of Excalibur. with the most common tabs.

version 5 should work but version 6 make it a "custom command" so it's just like using any other part of Vegas: 100% real time feedback when you push a button!

I know I'm repeating myself but no one ever mentions this feature within Vegas itself so I do wonder how many even realise it exists.
You can do a Select All to End pretty easily using the Selection Edit tool. Just look at the toolbar, it's a very handy tool that I use quite regularly as you can select all to end or some to end or all to beginning etc using a marquee.

Here's the current version of Excalibur for recent versions of Vegas:

Vegas Pro 8.0a, b, or c-32bit, 8.1-64bit, 9.0-32bit, and 9.0-64bit
Excalibur: 6.0 (custom command)

Vegas 6.0b or newer or any 7.0 version
Excalibur: 5.5

Vegas 5.0b or newer
Excalibur: 5.0

Excalibur is worth every penny. Ed Troxel is a genius. Spend the money: you'll not regret it.

As Bob sez, why do you need a script to do that? It's as easy as right click, ctrl, select which tracks to 'select to end'.
