Everytime I save my project DVDA 4.5d crashes..

When I say everytime, through a process of elimination, I've managed to......

1. change the background picture, SAVE OK
2. change title on screen, SAVE OK
3. Drag 1 MPG video to screen, SAVE OK
4. Drag another video to screen CRASH!
5. Drag a different video to screen CRASH!

Here is the full error, just in case a techie is reading :-) I noticed it said "access violation" - I made a futile attempt by running DVDA as admin... No change.

What is the source and format of the video you're adding that causes the crash?

How long and/or large is it?

Have you tried adding a shorter video, ideally an MPEG exported from Vegas, to see if the file itself is the problem?

I have the same problem. I added 8 video files (the longest one is 10 min) to the menu, all mpeg2 from Vegas. It was ok when I created it. But after I closed and application and came back later to try to work on it, it crashed with the same error messege asI tried to save. I couldn't do anything, not even deleting things. It crashed whatever I did.

Now, even worse, I created a new project, but it crashed every time when I tried to insert the 2nd media to the menu. The software simply doesn't work anymore.

Assuming all of your video is on your C drive and is not stored on an external drive or other source:

1) Ensure that you have the latest updates to the program. Go to the Help menu and select the Updates option.

2) Ensure you have at least 30 gigabytes of free space on your hard drive and that your drive is freshly formatted.

3) Ensure you have the latest Windows updates. Go manually to the site to get them. XP is at sp3 and Vista is at SP2.

4) Ensure that you have the latest version of Quicktime. This is very important, even if you're not using any MOV files in your project! Quicktime is the backbone of all PC-based video editing programs.
