Exception 0xC0000005 Error

I'm using DVDA 2.0b, Build 130.

I cannot prepare files for burning, after being able to do so less than two weeks ago. The only thing I can conceive of that would make a difference is the installation of interVideo WinDVD Creator, as part of the installation of the drivers and software for the Plextor ConvertX M402U capture box.

At first I thought it might be bad encodes, but I've gone through MPEG-2 encodes (both standalone and .m2v), uncompressed AVI and even MPEG-1 and never get through the initial preparation process.

I've even gone so far as to remove ALL video files from this particular DVD project, so that it's nothing more than menus and text, and STILL get the error. Perhaps I need to reinstall DVDA2.

Any ideas? At this point I'm rendering all video files as MPEG-2 (.m2v) and switching to Sonic MyDVD in hopes of at least getting this project done. Obviously, I'd much rather stick with DVDA2.

A few system stats: P4 2.4cGHz with HT, WinXP Home SP1, all video rendering taking place on a 200GB HDD. Some files edited with Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, others converted with TMPGEnc.

And finally the error message:

There seems to be a major bug with DVDA 2b build 130 where some projects cause DVDA to crash or hang.

Typical error messages are

Sony DVD Architect
Version 2.0b (Build 130)
Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0xEFEFF6E0 IP:0xEFEFF6E0
Thread: Main ID=0x1F4 Stack=0x12F000-0x130000

Sony DVD Architect
Version 2.0b (Build 130)
Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0x1 IP:0x10743AA
In Module 'dvdarch20k.dll' at Address 0x1000000 + 0x743AA
Thread: Main ID=0xEAC Stack=0x12E000-0x130000

etc etc.

This has been acknowledged by Sony and I've been told to wait for an update.

I think it is to do with multiple menus but I haven't had the time (or inclination) to look in detail.

Fairly peed off to have a useless expensive piece of software.

Thanks for your reply. My error message certainly fits the examples provided.
