Exception Error...

I purchased Vegas Platinum v6.0a and installed it. I then clicked on the icon to execute it and I got the following: "An exception occurred while trying to run "C:\PROGRA~1\SONY\VEGASM~1.0\VEGASM~1.DLL,_SFPLUGIN_GROVEL@16 501 1033 SONY_GROVEL_EVENT" I sent an email to support and they suggested that I uninstall the program, remove all references from the "Progam Files" and then using "REGEDIT," delete references to same. I was then to do a re-install. I did so and when I executed the program all worked well! The other day I installed a new software program from another vendor (not video) and later when I executed Vegas Platinum, I received the error msg again. I followed supports suggestions above but this time when I executed Vegas I got the error. I have a brand new Gateway laptop, the fastest one they have, plenty of memory, etc. Any ideas out there?

Have you tried un-installing the non vms program and then doing the support suggestions you mentioned? I would try that.

When you do get VMS working, contact support of the other program before re-installing their app. Let them know it is corrupting vms and see if they know of a patch or work around. They may have used an older common DLL or system file that vms doesn't like.
