Expensive free Vegas Studio CD

Thanks to the Sony People for the Vegas Studio upgrade offer. 29.95 US is a fair price - also if one bought the Screenblast 3.0b just a month ago and the How to writes nearly everything in japanese if you are outside US :-).
However Sony: Please find another way of sending the free CD to outside US. A CD in cover weighs less than 200 grams. Only way we can receive it is through UPS for 36 US - plus a week after receiving it you get one of UPS's funny little extra invoices for handling etc etc demanding probably at least another 36 US.
Any day I will send Sony the 29.95 US but I refuse to get raped of UPS for more than twice that amount.
ULEAD lets us easily download many hundred MB - why cant Sony? Please??

Why not just download it - no shipping costs! That's what I did as I live in Canada and had to pay US$40 for shipping on Screenblast a while ago. Now that they have scrapped MyDVD, we can download the upgrades!

Because Sony says: "The Vegas Movie Studio CD includes content that is too large to download. If you choose, the Vegas Movie Studio CD will be mailed to you. The CD is free, but shipping charges may apply.
" - and of course I do not want to miss anything of this great product.

If I recall correctly, the download is in 5 parts (thinking back all the way to yesterday). Vegas Studio, DVDA, Manuals, free sound effects clips, etc. Maybe Sony is considering people with dial-up connections. With DSL internet, it's not a big deal to download it. And I don't think you will miss anything by downloading vs. buying the boxed version (Sony Suzan can jump in here and answer that).

Up until last Thursday or so, if you upgraded online (not purchased new online) to the new Movie Studio, the content was unavailable for download, other than the sound FX. I believe that has now been changed. If you upgrade online before they made the change (as I did), contact customer support with your purchase confirmation and they'll either send you the CD or give you a link.
