I just recently purchased the X-touch Compact and have used it a bit with Pro 20. Any specific questions that maybe I can help with?

does it work well?

For the most part. The transport functions seem solid. Faders change the onscreen fader and vice versa. The motorized faders do not follow volume envelopes and act as a master when an envelope is used. When you first open the program, the 1st motorized fader and the Master out fader work together. Once you add an audio track, it functions normal. The Push Button to set Pan back to center actually changes the X-touch to a different mode, which I have yet to figure out what it is. So you have to manually center the Pan fader (using either the pots on the mixer or onscreen). Most DAWs when I close out the program, reset the X-touch, but Vegas leaves it as it sits. I run under Mackie Emulation. The layer B button adds a region marker, I can't tell if the Layer A does anything. That is about as far as I have got with Vegas. I use the X-touch primarily for Cakewalk and Reaper.
