Satish used to have one as a standalone, now I think it is part of his WAX effects but I did find a download for a standalone Shatter effect from Satish

If you search for Satish Debugmode you will find his webpage.

For a more textured shatter

You can use a gradient map with a noise or film grain with a displacement composite
Slide gradient left and text right

I know you didn't want to buy anything .. but Bluff Titler will do this, and much more. It's not free but, IMHO, it is well worth what they want for it.

I like that!

At first I thought, OK but lacks "gravity" i.e. the particles should perhaps fall but hey, with a bit more work even that could be done. Cool.

Hey guys sorry to post something that is probably pretty obvious to most users
I downloaded this and installed what Dave T2 suggested.
(it auto installed in a Sonic Foundry Folder in Vegas 3.0, huh?) both and now don't know how to find or use them... any help would be sweet.
This is the file name.

pluginpac_Satish_Debugmode_3DLE_Shatter_Pixel_Stretch__Adapter.zip

thanks,
