Explorer Window

I'm using Vegas Pro 8. On a couple of occasions I have accidentally re-named files and dragged folders into other folders while navigating in the explorer window. Is there a way to disable the ability to make changes to files in the explorer window? I still want to be able to drag files into the timeline, I just don't want the ability to alter the original files' names/locations.

Thanks!

Close the window when not using ? Or take the same degree of care you would if using any other file manager type of software.

I use the window pretty much the entire time I work in Vegas, so closing it isn't really an option. "Taking care" is good and all, but ever since I switched to a wireless mouse (because the corded version of my preferred thumb-ball is no longer made) it occasionally gets glitchy/jumpy and bad things happen. So I'd really like to find a way to disable that feature.

Try changing the files' properties to 'Read only', that should not affect their normal operation in Vegas and the OS would warn you if an attempt is made to change or move them... in theory anyway, I haven't tried it.

- I hear ya rice, I accidentally bump events on the timeline often, cause there's no way to lock-them in place.. at least without locking most other event functions as well. And then there's the side-chaining, BWF, AAF, OMF and submaster issues... don't get me started.

Which is why a simple, easy to use, quick, dedicated Track Lock button would be handy.
