I have a good grip on the basics of editing with Vegas and I'm now ready to learn more of it's advanced uses and techniques. I want to really explore the power of this program but I'm not interested in scripting. Any advice on what things to look at to really grasp the power of this software? Thanks
Look at the diffrent composoting modes, chroma keying. Also check out the Class On Demand Training DVD's if you havent already, Spot shows some of the advanced features of the video and audio within vegas. It is definately a good place to start. What I sometimes like to do if I have free time is look at some cool effects and things that are on TV or movies and things like that and then try to replicate them using Vegas. Kinda fun to do and you learn a lot from it as well.
Thanks, Jsnkc, for the kind words. Gary Kleiner also has some in-depth stuff on his DVD's too, and then of course, there is the Vegas book.
We'll be releasing the Vegas advanced DVD's, just some logistic bugs to work out still. There are some really cool features on the new DVD's.
Import some veg files from SundanceMedia and analyse how the file was set-up. This will give you an idea on how to manipulate the various effects and how they interact.
