I use AAF or a third-party OMF utility. I've had problems importing AAF files from PTs but not OMF.

Do not need OMF. Do not need PTools--->Vegas. Raw audio Vegas--->PTools. Fastest way. Thanks.

If the Vegas EDL/timeline is not needed. (and If PT will not open MXF directly) Other than that, open files in SF or Vegas and render 48kHz PCM audio files.
I don't know if it's possible to de-muxed the audio tracks in a muxer utility.

Have you tried ProTools export from the latest Vegas 12 b770? With every update of Vegas 12 we improved the export functions, including File > Export > ProTools. We broke the original AAF export into separate ProTools and Media Composer output to improve the compatibility of each. For the ProTools case, we render every media file on the Vegas timeline to AIFF and reference that AIFF in the resulting AAF.

Thanks for the replies. Both methods take about the same amount of time, so no advantage to either for me. The "export to Pro Tools" method seems to generate lots of files in various places. "Render as" seems a bit more straightforward for this particular process.

You can generate full length tracks (thus keeping edited event locations and lengths with Trackaliser from VASST. Then copy the resultant tracks and they are all aligned as all are same (project) length.
