Exported Themes & Text

Hello,

When I export a theme from DVDA4 and save it as positional, and then apply it, it changes all the text on all the buttons to what the text was on the original buttons.

Is there a way to apply a self-made them without changing the actual text?

When apply a sony theme this does not happpen. It only happens with the ones I make.

I think most if not all of the themes included with DVDA are grid rather than positional themes [at least the several I've checked] & the grid type don't store button text like positional themes do.

You can edit the xml where the theme data is stored, but the tags used for grid vs. positional don't seem to mix; in a brief attempt to edit a positional theme's xml, there doesn't seem an easy way to modify a positional theme so that text is left alone. That doesn't mean it's not possible (I really have no idea) -- just that I wasn't successful.

The help docs tell you where to find stored themes etc. if you want to give it a shot. Otherwise might try using & perhaps tweaking the settings of a grid-type theme.

Thanks for the reply. I found a good workaround. I used the grid settings as you suggested, but before I did that I selected all the buttons on the page I wanted all the others to look like and hit copy.

I exported the theme as grid and then applied it. I then went back to every page and selected all the bottons on the page and pasted just the grid settings to all the buttons.

I tried editing the xml, but I could not get that to work.
