Exporting clip database/logging information

om5 wrote on 8/24/2003, 4:11 PM

Is there a way to export the information from the clip capture database so that I can use it to either populate my own database, or to import it to other systems (I am thinking of CATDV.

Failing that, can I delete all my avi files from the hard disk and just keep the database file (what is the name of this file?) so that I can search it later. I want to back up all my clips in dvds and just keep the clip database on the hard drive.

Thanks for all the help.

Om.

Do a search for EDL and/or recapture from *.veg files and see if those thread don't answer your question.

Thanks for the pointer...at least now I know what question I need to ask.
Is the format of the SFVIDCAP file public? I basically need the information found in there!

om5 -

Quick answer - No, the sfvidcap file info is not available/exportable

I've been lobbying SoFo to have a "save as" or "export to" function available in VidCap, but not yet. The info is not even available to cut and paste. The best available is to maximize the window wit the info you want, do a screen grab, and paste the image into your favorite paint program, and print from there. See these threads:

Also, you may want to post a suggestion at the SoFo product suggestion page here:
