Exporting to PAL DVD help

I have to send my demo reel to Germany with a fully laid out DVD menu in the next 2-3 days. Everything I recorded and my DVD menu are in NTSC but I need to be able to export a DVD so a PAL player can read it. I am not worried about region numbers, Sony sets region free as a default.

I am assuming I do the following and if I am wrong, please let me know:

1. Change my demo reel on the Vegas time and the DVD menu to PAL and save as separate projects.

2. Render the demo reel as a PAL file as I would an NTSC.

3. Import the PAL video file as I would in NTSC.

4. Prepare and Burn DVD as PAL as I would NTSC.

I am thinking that this would work but I have no way of testing it. My wife is German and heading back over there before I do and she can test it then.

Any help with this would be great. Thanks

The transition from NTSC to PAL is not an easy one. Remember, you're not only dealing with a different frame size but also a different frame rate!

One thing I've learned is that virtually all PAL DVD players in Europe are also capable of playing NTSC video.

So, if you do attempt to create a PAL DVD of your demo reel, I'd recommend including an NTSC version too as back-up. It just may give better results -- and be more easily playable in Germany!
