External Monitor

Hi,
I have some problems with previewing my video on an external monitor. when i connect my monitor by fire wire to dv noting happens and i set my device settings on "ohci compliant IEEE 1394/dv". I work with the external kit of pinnacle (movie box dv). Can anybody help my pleas, are there any drivers or plug ins or someting like that. please help me.

I am not an expert but will try to help. Is your kit somekind of a convertor ? i.e. digital to analog. Make sure the tiny switches,if any, are set correctly. My canopus ADVC 100 convertor has switches at the bottom of the unit.

The external preview icon (preview window) must be active . Try removing one end of the connected firewire and connecting it again.Hope this works. This issue has been discussed umpteen times...refer to the past posts.Do a search for "external monitors".

Note: You can also use your camcorder to view on external monitors.

Not knowing the Pinnacle Movie Box, is it an OHCI compliant device? Does it read only their codec?
