I might be missing the obviouse here, sorry:

I have a project with the settings (HDV 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970 fps) and within that project is a video file with the same settings. When I try previewing the video on my external monitor, the image looks warped (the top and bottom push towards the center, creating letter boxing with a sqaushed image in the middle. How can I resolve this.........Oh, within the vegas preview window, the image looks fine, it's just on the external monitor that the image is problematic.....
Thank you.....

Recheck the resolution setting in your windows settings and also what your monitor is set for.

In Vegas go to

Options=>Preferences, Preview Device tab.

Try different "Display Mode" settings and also "Scale Output to fit Display" settings.
