External Monitor help

I am trying to get the preview to show up on my TV. I have a videocard with s-video out. When I click on the external monitor button it gives me a device window. It only has options for IEEE 1394/DV or Video for Windows standard. Why doesn't my s-video out show up? Do I need to add some sort of plugin or something?

Vegas ONLY supports external video preview via IEEE1394 device (such as a camera).

Lots of reasons for it... and lots of reasons why the SVideo out on video cards is not appropriate to be used for this as well.

Do a search for "external preview" in this forum and you should find all the information you would need to know about the issues.
