external monitor & matrox video card

My matrox video card Rtx.10 cooperates with Adobe software sending signal to tv monitor. But after downloading Sony vegas I have no signal at all.
Concretely is synchronised black area. What should I do?

Vegas can preview to a firewire device, not to your Matrox card.

Thank you for answer, although is not good news for me. I have to try my Canon XL1-camera conections to work with an external monitor. ( which is nothing else, as normal TV set with audio and video ins and outs. Your sincerely Przemek
