external monitor preview - 7.0

I just upgraded to 7.0, and went to change my preview device to my secondary windows display (I've used 6.0 for quite some time and do the same thing.)

When I click the "external monitor" icon, my preview monitor indeeds shows my video, but the other monitor goes black and I can't see the Vegas windows. After searching for help, I couldn't find any topic like this. I also opened up 6.0 and it previews video on the secondary windows display just fine. I compared the settings between 6.0 and 7.0 and didn't see anything unusual.

Maybe your dual display is configured as "Spanning" instead of independent displays?

Well, maybe not. You say it used to work in V6...

Eh? I may have understood you incorrectly but . . try . . .

Options > Preferences > Preview Device > check "Display Frames in video Preview Window during playback"

Maybe?

The secondary monitor still works fine in Vegas 6 - I opened 6 up after I had the problem with 7 and the preview is fine.

I'll do some more checking of settings between 6 and 7.

I've checked the options ->preferences->preview device->windows secondary display with "display frames in preview window during playback" checked.

Everything still works fine in 6.0
