External Monitor Preview Via 1394

I have connected the computer's 1394 port to a camcorder in VCR mode, then to a TV video port using S-Video. It's always worked fine this way, but the difference is now I have Vegas Pro 8.1 running on Vista 64 bit. The preview window works fine on my computer monitor, but when I click the external monitor button the picture freezes on my monitor, and nothing shows on the TV. I've enabled the firewire option via the preview device tab in preferences, and the details box says "Hot pluggable device" and "Device connected". But it doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks, Gary

Have you set the output to the correct type for your system.
For instance in my case it would be PAL DV Widescreen.

The other question I have is are you able to Capture successfully off the camera via firewire with 8.1?
In other words is your firewire working correctly as it sounds as if the is a fundamental problem with your firewire.

Does it still work with 32 bit Vegas 8.0 running on the same OS?
