What do you mean by "blink" and how often? Mine, for lack of a better word, refreshes periodically (kind of like the connection is temporarily lost) but not on a set timeframe (sometimes twice in a minute - sometimes once in 30 minutes) and can also happen WHILE I am playing OR stopped.

So, are you seeing what looks like a very brief loss of firewire connection?
