External preview jerky in V5, but OK in V4

In Vegas 5.0a, I rendered a project to a DV AVI file. I then started a new project, and put this AVI file on the timeline and enabled external preview in order to show the results to a client.

About every three seconds, the video would hesitate and then jerk forward. The audio was OK.

I then closed Vegas 5 and opened SCLive. I played the file to the external monitor via Firewire, and it played flawlessly.

I then close SCLive and opened Vegas 4 and put the file on the timeline and played via Firewire to the external monitor, in exactly the same way as I did in Vegas 5.0. It played flawlessly.

It would seem to me that Vegas 5 definitely has a preview problem. I found several similar posts, such as this one:

Preview Problems

I cannot find a workaround, so I assume that it is a bug.

I agree, JM,
I am still having the problem,I have done a complete uninstall of V4 & V5 , and reinstalled only V5, but still the same thing.
a couple of other things I've noticed, see if yours does the same

if playing a pre rendered file on the preview window then while playing switch to external monitor, mine will hang sometimes for at least 20-30 sec or indefinalty.

I also just noticed this yesterday, if I do a ram preview(mine only being 512mb, the section is fairly small), but the preview window and external monitor work perfect at a rocksteady 29.97fps.

I think I am also experiencing the problem of the studder when the time line redraws as well, I'm gonna do some tests now to see if thats the case.
