External USB Hard Drive Enclosure and Windows XP issue

Well it worked without a hitch for 100 gig WD drive, but I just swapped out the 100 gig and put in a 200 gig Maxtor and in Disk Management its only showing up as a 127.99 GB drive. I realize that a lot of times ya loose a little but 70 gigs gone ? Anyone got any experience/suggestions they could share ?

Blame your enclosure. The BIOS in the enclosure is limiting you to (I believe) 137 Gig which is showing up as 128Gig after formatting. This is NOT a limit of the OS but IS a limit of the enclosure. Contact the enclosure manufacturer to see what their solution to the problem is - i.e. either a BIOS update or swapping for a newer version.

If you have the ADS unit, Tom's Hardware just reviewed it. Read through it and maybe you will get some clues:
