Externally edited audio doesn't match video edits

I'm doing a series of pretty simple short videos. Basically I just need to make three or four simple cuts, normalise the audio and render.

Here's the funny thing part:

- I choose "edit in SoundForge" (I have version 6)
- I normalise the track
- I hit save. It saves the normalised track in the same folder as the video
- But the VV3 project doesn't "update" with the new audio track even though I've saved it in the same folder witht he same name as instructed in the manual
- If I try to manually put it in the project then I find that the audio track is actually the entire audio track. By that I mean it is a longer track of the original unedited video, and so therefore doesn't match the edited video track.

I'm confused.

Can someone please highlight my obvious error ?

Render first, of course ! Stupid me.

And you can normalise in VV3 ?! I was looking for such a function but didn't see anything . . .

thanks for your help

Oh dear - embarassing when it's that easy. I'll look harder next time.

Thanks very much
