Extra files on video DVD

I was wondering - can you create a video DVD, and then put other files on the disk? For instance, I might want to have a promo disk that shows a bunch of video clips, with a menu like a regular DVD, playable in any DVD player, and also have video clips available as .avi or .mov files on the disk so people can load them directly into Vegas.

I made a test disk and put the "extra" files in the Video_TS subdirectory and it seemed to work okay. But I was wondering if it violated the DVD spec somehow or might cause it not to work in some players...

I do it all the time. I don't think DVD Architect lets you do this, but if, after you have authored the disk (in DVDA or in some other program), you can burn those files, plus other data files, using burning software such as Nero (which is what I use).

Just simply create a directory and put the files there. Don't put them in the AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS directories, however.
