Extra Unwanted Audio Track

Whenever I add a video into the timeline, it adds a new audio track underneath for the audio of the video, even though I don't need to make a new audio track because there already is one. It's really annoying me and it never used to do that. What should I do to fix it?

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 13.

If you already have a video track, putting the new video clip on that same video track will put its audio on the same audio track (as long as it's still directly underneath the video track). If you've moved that audio track lower down, then it has to make an audio track to put its audio on.

If you only wanted to place video, without its audio track, then dbl click to open it in the Trimmer window, then select JUST the video portion, and place that onto a video track, and the audio won't come with it.

ProTools does the same thing sometimes too. I've gotten so fast at deleting unwanted audio tracks, that having this happen several times during a session is a non-issue for me any more.
