Extract audio from CD?

Randy Brown wrote on 10/26/2009, 10:24 AM
Hola,
I shot an event where the audio was recorded by the sound tech and he put it on CD for me. After several attempts to extract audio using V8 it shows that it completed with no errors but it doesn't exist. I checked the folder it was supposed to extract to and then did a search for the file name but nothing.
Any thoughts as to what's going on?
Thanks,
Randy

If you open it with windows explorer does it show files? Does it play in an audio CD player, or did he prepare it as a data CD with wav files.?

Also, if he recorded live on a CD recorder, it's possible that he forgot to finalize it...

It plays fine in windows media player and I just ripped it with no problems (using WMP) so not a big deal at the moment but just curious why V8 showed it completed without errors (twice).
Thanks Ralph,
Randy

Because V8 expected a regular audio CD (which can have data files, but these are not supposed to be audio).

WMP expects either audio CDs or playable data files, it saw the latter.

Just import it into Vegas as a media file.
