Yes, this is what is great about a non-destructive editor.
Assuming that you still have even a small piece of the
original audio track in your project, all you need to do is
take the event that makes up the audio you want to restore,
and edge edit by dragging at either edge. You'll see that
you can drag the audio out on both sides as far as you want
(to the beginning or end of the file).

If the audio is completely gone, you can't extract audio
out of just the video strip. You could throw the audio
portion of the clip back into your project, by right-
clicking on the video file in the Explorer window, drag to
the audio track, let go of the button, select "Audio only",
and then "Across Time".

Mike,

It doesn't seem like that technique would assure that the
audio would be perfectly sync'd. Since posting this
message, I've found a way that works, although it is
tedious. It involves copying each event to the trimmer and
then pasting back the audio.
