K - Put clip on an empty piece of Timeline, and extract from there. Or you could open in trimmer and do it there - yes?

Your question indicates to me you need to grasp what the media pool does. It is solely a repository of your media - a "Media Pool". Apologies if I've got this wrong.

How can I put this? - Yeah I know - It would be like me asking you "How do I extract a single page from a Word document while I'm in WIndows Explorer?" - Got the picture? You will have, when you extract from your clip!

Tis I don't understand - "I know how to do this when downloading" - what's that about!

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant is that when downloading from my camera, Capture allows the extraction of a still image, but I don't know to do the same when I want a still from a clip that is already in the pool. But I will your suggestion (as you can no doubt guess, I'm still learning the ropes in VF).

Thanks.

To extract a still from your video clip:

- Put the clip on the timeline and have it showing in the Preview window.
- Right-click on the frame you want in the Preview Window. A menu window will appear. Check "Display at project size." This will give you a sharper still.
- Click on the floppy disk icon at the top right of the Preview Window. In the window that appears, name your file, and choose whether to save as a .jpg or .png file and what directory you want to save it to. click Save, and your still will be saved in that directory. It will also appear in your media pool, for use in your video.
