As per an earlier message from SonicEPM, temporarily set your project settings field order to "none (progressive)" then snapshot it. This will work if you want to capture stills off video.

Are you using Video Capture to gets stills directly from the device's footage?

OR, are you capturing footage and then bringing it into Vegas and getting stills from there?

I am using video capture to get stills directly from video footage.

I've also clicked on the "save still" icon above the preview window

Thanks!

Thanks guys.

Changing the preview quality to best & de-interlacing stills

seemed to have worked.

Again, Thanks-a-mill.

Video Pics from Redhawkvision Software has been getting excellent reviews. Apparently it uses proprietary algorithims similar to those utilized in satellite imaging enhancement to produce photo quality files.

It works with Premiere, but they were (are?) working on a standalone version. You can check them out at redhawkvision.com

In Video Capture, is there a "Display at Project Size" preference?, or am I missing something obvious? I can successfully save a still *at project size* from the timeline or trimmer (from an already captured clip), but when capturing directly from tape in VidCap, right click does not bring up this option (and the image is captured at 317x240x24 as a .bmp or .jpg only).

In Video Capture, you have to manually resize the window yourself. Pull down the dividing line between the capture window and the media pool. When you have created enough space, the preview frame will grow larger.

Thanks Chienworks - after I posted, I also found the "zoom to 100%" by right clicking. I assume that 100% is also the project size, or 654x480 (in my case).

Actually, you can right-click on the image, choose Zoom and then choose 100%. This will automatically change the display to full size. When done, just right-click again, choose zoom, and pick 50% to get it back to "normal".
