Fade between clips don't work in Vegas Pro 22

Ramon-Villagrana wrote on 6/13/2025, 2:29 PM

Whenever I place two clips together and I want one to fade to black and the other to fade from black I use the little handles on the corner. I can fade one clip, but the other one wont give me the option of fading. I have to seperate the clips then I can fade both. If I happen to clip them together again, the fade of one clip disappears and I cant fade it again unless I seperate the clips. Is this a glitch or do I have something enabled that I can disable to make this work? Thank in advance for the help.

@Ramon-Villagrana You might have Unquantified frames on the start or end of your clip/s. Go to options Quantize to frames - Show Unquantized event edges, these will show as red ends on the timeline events. Trim these partial frames off.

If you zoom in you'll see these are not full frames.

You could use the DISSOLVE>FADE THROUGH COLOR effect, making the color black. But what you are doiing should work. I do it a lot.

Thank you, this was it. As soon as I cut the red frames I could use the handles normally. Thank you again.
