Fade handles

Hello all,
A very newbie question.....Normally when I add a new event to a project and place it directly after an existing event, I get two fade handles in the top corner of the end and beginning of the adjacent events. However sometimes I only get a fade handle for the new event. When I pull the two events apart, the two handles return. I have the "enable snapping" funtion switched on. Do you know why I have this problem only occassionally?

Thanks.

I'm not sure why it happens, but i've noticed this too. You can always fade even if the handle isn't visible.

Of course, if the clips overlap at all, even my the slightest most miniscule amount, then you'll have a crossfade instead of fade handles. Zoom way way in and you might see that the audio of the first clip is longer than the video, in which case snapping the video parts together may still introduce a crossface because the audio from the first extends into the second. This is just a guess though.
