Fade-in and Fade-out a image

I have several moving images one image per track and what I want to do is fade the image in as in starts to move across the screen, then fade it out as it leaves the screen. Additionally would this also work with a video clip this is also moving.

Yes, and it's very easy to do. Move your mouse pointer over the upper left corner of the clip and the cursor will change to a quarter-circle icon. Hold the button down and drag to the right. This will make a fade-in on the beginning of the clip/picture as long as you've dragged. The same thing applies to fading out the end, but drag the quarter-circle left instead of right.
