Fade in and out

I have several small 5-10 second clips that I have made from a 30 minute DVD by trimming away what I didn't want from the 30 minute version. I have left about 1 second at the beginning and the end of each clip in anticipation of a 1 second fade in and fade out on each clip.

1. Can I select all of the clips and add the 1 second fade in-fade out to each clip in one preprogramed shot?

2. After that, can I bring all the clips together with a given space (.5 seconds or so) on the time line between each clip. That way when I render it as an .avi file and load it into my main project, it will be easier to have all of the clips together but not have them touching so it won't be so hard to drag and drop.

1 You should be able to add the fades to one clip. Then select that clip and chose copy. Then highlight all the other clips and chose paste event attribut4es. Might work. Watch out for any other attributes you might have placed.

2 If you render it as an AVI file and then import it you will have one long event. in the media pool. You will not be able to drag and drop each clip. You will have to S(plit) or make subclips.

Using the "paste event attributes" didn't work. Any other ideas?

Use Excaliber 'fade in event'. Will apply a selected duration fade in and out to all selected events.

What is Excaliber 'fade in event'? Where do you find it? Is it part of VMS or different software?
