Fade Sound to Less The 0dB

I would like to fade just a portion of a sound clip to less then 0dB. How can this be done without abruptly switching from one sound level to the next.

Look up "volume envelope" in Vegas Help.

Sorry musicvid, but I can't seem to find any documentation on how to fade the audio without completely having it fade out.

I do use the envelope gain control quite often when I want to switch volume levels. However, I'd like to gradually reduce (fade might be the wrong term) the volume from one level to the next.

I looked up "volume envelope" in Vegas Help but can only find what I'm currently doing.

Got it... sorry musicvid, just had to read a little more. Adding envelope points is what I needed.
