fading

I'm making a demo video for our band. I've got the individual projects (video and audio) saved with the audio and video sync'd . I THINK (?) that I now want to make it so that I can put the projects all on one page and blend about a minute and a half of each. My question regards fading. I've used Acid for years. How do I create a volume/image envelope so I can fade the ends of the individual projects and the clips that I drop in. And, do I just layer them? In Acid, I could use the "split at cursor" function and whack of the ends that I didn't need.

Looks like your post has been overlooked so I'll step in as a beginner.

On the timeline, click your mouse where you want to split the track and press 'S'.

Now hover over the top right hand corner of the clip end and you will see a small quarter moon shaped icon appear. drag this to the left to creat the fade.

Reverse the above to fade the beginning of the track i.e. hover over top left corner and drag to right.

Works exactly the same way for video and audio.

There are other ways of creating a fade using transitions or envelopes but this is the easiest.

Muttley, you missed this one!
